The Strongest Hero Mobile Game Announced

My Hero Academia's fifth season is already a few episodes in and sees Deku continuing his hero training alongside his classmates, with them even participating in a special battle against Class 1-B. And as if that isn't enough to keep fans pleased, Sony Pictures Television Games and Funimation have announced that they're releasing a new mobile game based on the series. And unlike the gacha card game, Ultra Impact, this one's actually coming to the West.

Titled My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero, it's described as an action-RPG where players can build their own team of characters to either fight against villains, like Shigaraki and the Nomus, in the game's story mode or against other players in PvP battles. There will also be a co-op mode called Allied Assault, with additional content planned for every month after release.

The announcement trailer shows off brief glimpses at several of the available heroes in action; namely Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Froppy, and, of course, All Might. The other Class 1-A students can no doubt expected to be included as well, with Sony and Funimation also confirming other pro heroes like Endeavour and even villains like Stain. With how massive of a cast My Hero Academia has, the possibilities for future playable characters is massive.

The game will release later this spring (so possibly before the end of May) in North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Scandinavia. Players can already go and sign up for it on the official website, and it should be noted that it will contain in-app purchases aka microtransactions.

My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero releases for Android and iOS devices this spring.
