New Peacemaker Clip Shows John Cena Having Meltdown Over Missing Logo

John Cena is all set to return as Peacemaker after a successful run in The Suicide Squad. His character will go to any lengths to achieve peace, including killing several people. But, he also has a set of rules, and based on an exclusive clip released from the upcoming HBO Max series, he cannot use any weapons that do not carry his Dove of Peace trademark logo.

The clip shared on the HBO Max Twitter account, and also re-posted by both Cena and director James Gunn, features Peacemaker trying to explain the importance of his logo to Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt and Danielle Brooks’ Leota Adebayo. The two are obviously not amused, leaving Cena's titular character all flustered.

The clip begins with Cena's Peacemaker looking at a sniper rifle and asking where the Dove of Peace is. The conversation escalates quickly, as the other two characters don’t recognize his trademark. “It’s engraved on all my weapons. My tomahawk, my sword, my blow darts, my pistol,” lists Peacemaker, quickly losing his calm. Holland's Harcourt reminds him that they’re on a mission and they couldn’t have stopped at an engraver for his Dove of Peace.

Just when it seems like things couldn't get worse, Brooks’ Adebayo comes up with an ingenious solution and hands Peacemaker a permanent marker. He will not carry a weapon that doesn’t have his logo engraved on it, so the next best thing is to draw it himself. Clearly not an artist, Peacemaker is unable to get the bird right and ends up making a comical drawing of a bird that seems to be flexing its biceps.

Apart from Brooks and Holland, Cena will be joined by Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Steve Agee as John Economos, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, and Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, among others. Rizwan Manji will also appear in the series as the hospital janitor Jamil, as has been seen by fans in a previously released Peacemaker clip.

As the premiere date of the HBO Max series approaches, a lot of new content is being released, including an official Spotify playlist by Gunn. The playlist includes the soundtrack for the first three episodes of Peacemaker, which launch simultaneously on premiere day. Gunn has also shared a list of the streaming services that will be showing the episodes exclusively in different countries around the world that do not have access to HBO Max.

Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max on January 13, 2022.
