How to Solve Bells Puzzle in Temple of Purification

Riot Games has recently taken a lot of liberty with different ways to tell stories within its game world, as can be seen with Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. Much like the League of Legends series Arcane, Ruined King showcases familiar characters from the original game in a contained storyline that doesn't require any previous knowledge to enjoy.

One of the many great aspects of Ruined King is that players can control memorable characters like Sarah Fortune and Illaoi in a top-down setting and explore new environments and dungeons. One such dungeon, the Temple of Purification, is a dungeon that appears pretty early in the game that has plenty of challenging enemies and puzzles sprinkled throughout it.

One of the puzzles involves a complicated riddle and some bells. This puzzle must be done correctly to advance through the dungeon and even opens an optional chest with great loot. So for Ruined King fans looking to progress through the game and grab some Epic gear, here is how to solve the bell puzzle.

Puzzle 1

This first puzzle is the one that is required to open the pathway to go further into the dungeon. Upon reading the glowing monuments in the room, players can find the first parts of the riddle. One tablet will say that the stag is skittish at sunrise, so prey must wake up before its predator.

The other tablet will say that the owl begins hunting when the crow falls asleep. Lastly, a "Hymn of Awakening" monument next to the bells gives additional essential clues. It states that night's stillness is broken by the motion of day and that the morning stirring begins the motion of the day.

Abiding by the hymn, players need to ring the bells in the order for when each animal begins ends its hunting cycle during the day. That means that to open the doorway, the crow bell must be wrung first, the stag bell second, the bear bell third, and the owl bell last. This should open the dungeon door and get players one step closer to facing off against Viego the Ruined King himself.

Puzzle 2

This second puzzle is optional but is crucial for beginning Ruined King players who want to open the secret chest. Further on in the dungeon, a puzzle on the floor says that the stag beat the owl twice, then was defeated three times. This one is more straightforward; simply ring the stag bell twice and the owl bell three times. This should open a secret door next to the first pathway with a bunch of treasure, along with the Epic Null-Magic Mantle.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is out right now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
