As the Xbox Series X/S approaches its one-year anniversary, the console's library is beginning to take shape. As studios become accustomed to the power of the ninth generation consoles, more games will come out that push Microsoft's platform to its limits. Each year should conceivably result in better games than its predecessor, but that doesn't mean Xbox owners do not have anything to look forward to in 2021.

In terms of upcoming Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One games, the following titles were announced or added to the scheduler over the last few days: Klang 2, Happy's Humble Burger Farm, Monopoly Madness, BloodRayne: ReVamped, BloodRayne 2: ReVamped, Haunted Chocolatier, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

October 2021 Xbox Games

Left 4 Dead fans should get a kick out of Back 4 Blood, which is available on Xbox Game Pass. Originally released for the Wii U in 2014, Koei Tecmo's Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will be making its way to a wide range of consoles, making it a spooky option for those looking for a horror game to play on Halloween.

Those looking for a retro shooter may want to keep note of Exophobia. Sunshine Manor also looks great. This month, Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 took players to the Caribbean, garnering a decent reception in the process. Square Enix's Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy should scratch someone's itch for superhero fans. Ubisoft's Riders Republic has been delayed from September to October 2021, making this a particularly stacked month for the publisher. Remedy's Alan Wake also made a comeback with a remaster that came out on October 5.

November 2021 Xbox Games

Forza Horizon 5 will be heading to Mexico in November 2021, as Playground Games looks to continue the series' brilliant run of games. The year also won't feel complete before Ubisoft releases a new Just Dance game. Soccer fans who happen to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass can take their favorite team to the Champions League final when Football Manager 2022 launches on the streaming service.

November 2021 also contains the one game that matters the most for a huge selection of people: Call of Duty: Vanguard. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, Vanguard marks a return to World War II for the franchise, a setting that has worked well for the IP before. The game will also include a new mode called Champion Hill, which will be playable in Vanguard's Alpha. Football Manager 2022 will be the game of the year for the franchise's established player base, and it will be available on day one on Game Pass.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will be launching on November 11, and San Andreas will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

December 2021 Xbox Games

With the shopping season in full swing, players will need to know exactly what is on offer in December. What games could make great gifts for the holiday season? The snowboarding game Shredders is also expected to drop in December. Halo Infinite will be the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One game of December 2021, with the first-person shooter debuting on the 8th of the month.

Once this month is done, everyone will look back at the previous year to determine the best Xbox Series X/S games of 2021. Will it be Psychonauts 2? Forza Horizon 5? Or, maybe a title that has to be confirmed for 2021?

Major Xbox Games Announced For 2021 That Have No Release Date

2021 is well over the halfway mark, so one has to assume that most of the year's biggest titles have already been announced. That said, there are still plenty of games that are slated for a 2021 release but have yet to specify a date. With each passing month, the odds grow that these titles will be pushed back to 2022; however, that might not be the case.

Evil West and Six Days in Fallujah are just a handful of other games that could drop by the end of the year.

Major Xbox Games Announced For 2022

The gaming industry never stops. Even with so many titles still to drop in 2021, there are already plenty of huge games tentatively announced for 2022. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, and Gollum are just a few of the Xbox games that look set to define 2022. Xbox players can look forward to some major console exclusives next year, with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Starfield, and Redfall all expected to drop. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands also cannot be ignored.

Major Xbox Games In Development With No Release Year Or A Post-2022 Estimation

"Coming soon" can mean anything from a few months to a couple of years. Beyond Good and Evil 2, Diablo 4, Dragon Age 4, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 are all in development, but players will have to wait patiently to learn when these games will be made available to play. Projects like the new Bungie IP are still a long way off from becoming a reality; however, at least the studios have confirmed they are working on them.

Rumored Xbox Games

Just because a project has not been officially announced doesn't mean it cannot be discussed. Some rumored games, such as Forza Horizon 5 and Grand Theft Auto 6, should happen sooner or later. Other titles, such as Alan Wake 2, come with a healthy dose of wishful thinking.
